Research interests: I am interested in psychopathological disorders including substance abuse, depression, suicidality and PTSD, as well as novel techniques to combat these conditions through the lens of a positive psychology approach with specific focus on recovery via identity reconstruction, goal achievement, pursuit of education, and developing vocational purpose.

Thesis: My thesis explores whether educational and/or vocational achievement facilitates recovery from addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.  I believe the pursuit of goal achievement provides the structure, competency, and purpose needed to build a non-addict identity separate from a former lifestyle of active addiction and that developing this path could shape future treatment techniques.
